Chick Flicks all-round are pretty cheesy, and apparently, this post title also refers to some hormone induced love song. Yes, Chick flicks contain numerous cliches and can get damn boring, but like the title this one did beat the norm and these days i'm noticing it with most romance films based on a book.

Something borrowed wasn't exactly on my watch list and as usual i was in for a surprise. The story begins with the same old same old as you meet two best friends Rachel( Ginnefer Goodwin) and Darcy (Kate Hudson), Rachel being the wiser smarter one and Darcy being the more outgoing sexy one. The major twist comes when they celebrate Rachels 30th birthday and after moaning about still being alone etc she and Dex (Colin Egglesfield), Darcy's fiancé and husband to be, decide to get a few drinks where she accidentally finds Dex has always liked her. GET OUT!!! SERIOUSLY? But wait there's more! After one night of sex Rachel and Dex have to decide forget about it and let Darcy win, or break it of before the very close wedding.

I really like this movie since there is more than one side to be on: Stuck up Darcy or Cheater Rachel. And There's also a few male crying scenes which i like because i always love to see how ugly hollywood boys get while tearing up, but i must say as a straight man, Colin Egglesfield makes it look pretty good.

If you don't like romantics, don't worry there's a bit of everything in it, and the ending is extremely unexpected.

I decided to go with the voluptuous blonde Christina Aguilera. Christina has been bringing us to tears with her unique vocals and has been an A-lister for more than a decade, but it wans't always easy.

Born in 1980 Christina starred in Mickey mouse club house and struggeld to make her mark, but after recording "reflection" the themesong for Mulan. Things Started looking up. The Legends of Earthsea

SO i've never witnessed Shawn in a Series before,but i was darn curious. I rented this flick and just to prove that i'm not bias i'll tell you straight that the first half an hour was crap, but something was luring me in.

The funding was low so the movie starts out with terrible CGI(just be patient) .

Earthsea is a world with thousands Islands that was once peaceful thanks to the amulet of peace. The amulet was broken nand King Tygath tries to rule the world, slaughtering anybody that comes in his way. The high priestess keeps the peace by keeping the EVil Nameles ones locked away,but Tygath wants to release them for his own personal reasons.

A prophecy brings hope, That a young wizard Will defeat Tygath and all evil.

Meanwhile Ged ( Shawn Ashmore) Is dreaming to bevome a wizard , but is held back by his Stubborn father, untill he saves his village, dies and gets revived by Ogean who becomes his master. And through the wholer Series Ged Dreams off a beautiful priest and frequently causes dangour for himself.

The Series had me on board as I went Through Ged's Highs and lows and to see thhow the bonds of friendship are tested.

My oppinion: Go Rent, Embark on this Marvelous Journey with Ged as he uncovers his true name, true pottential and true love.

"The day" Premiere

The Day" post-apocalyptic thriller, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival during Midnight Madness. And to promote the film i decided to give it some pulicity.

The new movie is directed by Douglas Aarniokoski and stars Shawn Ashmore (X2, Frozen), Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism), Cory Hardrict (Battle: Los Angeles), Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings) and Shannyn Sossamon (One Missed Call).

Place of Sacrifice: The Ruins

So after Frozen i got pretty hooked on Shawn Ashmore, to say the least. I Quickly tracked down this film Anxious to watch it. " Will this spoil my flawless Vision of Shawn Ashmore himself?" Just halfway through the movie i answered that with a quick: "NO"

The movie revolves around four americans going on a vacation to Mexico/South America. There they meet Mathias( joe Anderson), A dude from munich looking for Dimitri, an Archeologist who disappeared after visiting Ruins of the excavation map.

They finally find The ruins, but run into some local Mayans who give them crap for coming near the Ruins and the strange vine growing on it. The locals force them to never leave the temple to quarantine them from this strange plant for an unknown reason. They cannot get off (Kind of a Frozen feeling there) the barren graveyard.

They soon find out why as they venture partially into the temple, facing starvation, loss of sanity and also the everything-but-submissive vines.

I cannot compare The ruins to frozen, but it does come with its own tweaks. With active Elements like Horror, Suspence, Drama, action and a bit of Romance, this movie will always stay on the top of my DvD pile.

Breath taking performances Shawn Ashmore (Eric), Jonathan Tucker (jeff), Jena Malone(Amy)and Laura Ramsey(stacy). Amazing movie and characters are again extremely realistic and relatable, and although they're stuck in one place the storyline keeps you watching.

So there she was, the country girl minding her own bussines. Jogging to keep her midget physique in shape, when BAM she ends up on some dudes bumper. Oon wensday mornig was hit by a car in santa monica After crossing at an intersection. According to a police reports she suffered minor injuries and that reese was lucky because it could have turned out way worse. The driver also turned out to be lucky becuase his vision was apparently abscured by a tree and that caused Witherspoon not to press cahrges. Not long after that she was released from the hospital to recover at home. Now all i'm waitng for is the "scary movie" franchise to create a spoof of this. Just imagine a short blond chick with massive chin getting scraped of the road!

This months winner is Shawn Ashmore, one of my favourite actors. This picture was taken while shooting frozen ( see movie reviews) which is also one of my all time favourites. HE made his big brake when playing Iceman in X-men.

INTERESTING FACT: Shawn has a twin Brother, Aaron Ashmore, who was born a minute before Shawn, yet Shawn is still more successful. They also share the same middle name (Robert).

Boy-band fever: The Wanted

Is it just me or are boybands popping up like rabbits. The worst part is i hate boy bands, it's actualy a miracle that i didn't go suicidal in the time when westlife and the backstreet boys were chart toppers. These days you put on the radio you hear JLS, Switch it off, turn on radio and hear the overtones. They started spreading like a virus, but good did come from this evil. I discovered the light: The Wanted. Hits like "all time low" and "glad you came" realy hit home. What made them unique, they stripped pop of all its ornaments; going back to the basics. Their songs are intemate and thats the game changer. Most of us are sick hearing song about how much money he has and how many whores a rapper can do... IN HIS LAMBORHINI! The kept all the right elements, filtering out al the trash like the white suits and homo hairdo's. just look a the members: max goerge (pretty boy vocalist), jay mcguiness ( more like mcgenius, the brainy one), Siva Kaneswaran (the spanyarrd), tom parker ( the poet) and Nathan sykes ( prodidgy). All i'm saying is expect them at the next music awards, stealing the spotlight.

The dumbest thing a magazine can do is make a hugely false statement, and even worse if it's about A-list celebs. WILL SMITH AND JADA SPLIT, can you geuss what magazine stated this. Yes, your right, it's the infamous "in touch magazine". The magazine claims that the speration was mutual and delivered several unconfirmed reports about the maried couple's status. The couple have been maried for 13 years and are the parents of the R&B Artist Willow and karate kid Jaden Smith. Trey Smith, son of will and Jada, denied the claims. It also turns out that this isn't the first time this magazine has made false claims about celeb break up recieving many complaints.

We all knew what happened then; five uppercuts and three strangles later he was found guilty of physicaly abusing RiRi. After that he went Totaly quiet with rumors of him being depressed and being anorexic. In 2010 he finaly stepped back into the light and released his comeback Album Grafitti, with hits like "crawl" and " i can tranfrom ya", and his fans were supporting him every step of the way. With him topping the charts these days ( with "beautiful people, Next 2 u and Yeah x3) did his regained succes go to his head. News reports appeared CHRIS BROWNS AGGRESION ( breaking mirrors at interview) and recently Noise compaints From his neighbours in the west Hollywood condo. His response? "Eff em!" Reports suggest his Probation is being revoked. I am kinda of the point. All im saying that we don't mind that you dont realy care what the public thinks, but i'm not sure this is the way to redeem yourself as the humble prince of R&B.

Drama on Ice: Frozen

So my uncle has a knack for good movies ( seriosly he knows his shit). He's realy strict and rates movies realy harshly. One day he appears at our house for no apparrent reason. He was looking pale and the only words we could get out of him were :"Watch frozen, NOW!" WE put the movie inn, unaware of the MAGNIFICENCE we were about to experience. A cuuning Dramatic movie that kept us n the edge of our seats fr the next ninety minutes. What made this film box office royalty was that Adam Green made you fall in love with the characters and its was all so realistic. I mean a bunch of teens stuck on a skee lift facing solitude, pretdaters and the worst of them all natture. Cast include One of my favourites Shawn Ashmore, Kevin Zeggers and making her debut, Emma Bell.Music, special effects and behind the scenes phottage deserves a round ten. I know i'm putting this film on a pedistal, but i have every right to it's that good

So i whatched this awesome movie called frozen m( i'll write an amazing review of that later) and as i was liking their facebook page i saw this Dude seriosly badmouthing the movie, so i replied. Yes my impulsiveness took over and my words were a little harsh, but what i didnt know was that one comment would lead to an armageddon of crude replies (not just from him) and then this other dude stepped in to join the other guys side. It started to get real personal real quickly and when he started badmouthing Christianity i just thought: "Thats it, be mature and end it Marshaan." So this is just a random post to update you guys... i have created a new category on the blog. Its about nominating someone with really nice blue eyes. When i mentioned this on facebook i got allot of replies when i needed suggestions and the main thing that came up was not to be sexist, so i will pick a girl one month and a guy the other, to make everyone happy.

So today was the opening of my beloved container at vissershok primary, a underprivilaged school. When arriviving i was quiet nervous. I do enjoy attention and i dont realy care what people think, BUT hundreds cameras in my face arent realy my scene. I got congratulated by every big shot bussines owner while they were mispronouncing my name. The children loved the container and that was my biggest concern, yes, getting acceptance from six year old toddlers who i didnt know even existed until an half an hour ago. After that it was pretty manstream, fake smiles, firm handshakes, talking to reporters and givving out my email to total strangers. Then i went to do a interview for the show 50/50. It was the highlight of the day. I'll tell ya'll when it airs. Now they just have to photoshop the whole thing. Did i just say that?

Farewell Tattoed Angel

A tragedy, truly. Amy Winehouse was silently taken away from us on the 23 without anything but warning. We all new Amy for her Powerful voice and definitely for her drug abuse. About three weeks ago doctors claimed that Amy only had three months to live, if only she had that long. This article isn't about how she paraded around drunk or any of her many rehab visits, its about the legacy shes left. Her record label claims that she has enough unreleased material to make up three whole new albums. In one way she made a mark on all of us, if it was that anyone can reach the stars, or to warn us about deadly addiction. Some even reported she died happy.Well with someone as great as amy passing away, will the music industry fade BACK TO BLACK?

So this whole design competetion is getting a bit old. I think this will be one of the last post concerning this matter. The last post will revolve around something i will reveal now. Jersey shore minus Male cast = Jersey whores?

So i don't watch a lot of mtv... i realy dont even watch tv, but Jersey shore made it worth while. My favourite cast member? Mike, informaly known as the situation. I knew would happen with my luck, he's leaving the show! Mr. Sitch decided to persue his dream of being an actor. Yes he is well known worldwide, i"m sure they have jersey shore knock-offs in Japan too, but there is a differnce between being famous and being a A-list movie star. He might make us loose our shit and cause us to piss on the floor.My own needs as viewer might be clouding my judgement, but this is truly not the best descision for his carreer or future.

Everybody poops Shane Dawson

So i used to be one of those people that stayed away from the internet, occasionaly using it for emergencies. Well, i now surf the web at least once a day and i've even... Dare i say it... Become a addicted you-tuber. My favourite channel is shane Dawson tv. This commical genius play different characters and usualy makes fun of celebs by pointing out unnotticed flaws or actions. One of his most popular characters, Shanaynay even has her own facebook page. Its not that i have a weird sense of humour, 2.6 million other people like him too. Second place goes to Bad lip reading. This channel mutes a music video and creates new lyrics to fit the unclear lip movements. Its hilarious and the lyrics make more sense then the original ones! No. Well i can go on and on, but if you answer most of the questions wbly ith a short and powerful "No", then that person is probably is checkin you out. Here comes the dilema. Do you acknowledge his good taste as an compliment or do you cik the homo pervert in the crotch. I didnt choose either of the above... I ran for the hills!

Getting raped by homework

This phrase is realy hot in my circle of friends. I have to be carefull when i use it, apperently some find it offensive. It might be crude, but it's one of the most true statements ever. Why? Homework is the reason i'm canceling dates, why i'm not posting so frequently. Homework is like rape just when you think your safe you get overpowered by some more, you don't hve a choice either,you are forced to do it. The album is dedicated to her big break up ( looks like chasing pavements didn't work out to well ) and although these song have the ability to make tear ducts flow i wouldn't buy the album. The song all sound similar to each other and gets rather boring.

So as some of you know, i was promised a laptop for winning the safmarine container classroom competition. The laptop was supposed to arive YESTERDAY, but to my disappointment nothing came. Okuhle media was responsible were responsible for this since it was their responsibility to supply the laptop. I mean i won the competition over a month ago; don't you usually get your prize on the spot? Here's the real question I’m asking: When in a similar situation what do you do? Do you write a complaint or even sue the company giving you a prize or do you keep a stiff upper lip and fake a smile till it arrives?

So easter is around the corner and thanks to the recesion, we have to cut down on chocolate. Now that our wallets are on a diet we have one dilema: what do i keep buying and what should i leave? Well i have the answer. A definent must buy is the lindt gold bunny. Not only is lindt the best chocolate around, but for every bunny sold 50c is donated to help save the endagered riverine rabbit. Music Newcomer: Alexis Jordan

Alexis Jordan's only 18 but has worked for almost half a decade to release this debut album . After being voted off the 2006 series, America's Got Talent, she and her family moved to Atlanta to be closer to the music industry. Several YouTube uploads later, she caught the interest of Jay-Z, who signed her to his label. So it's a shame that she doesn't have much more to say here than "I want to walk in the club with my high heels on." Altough she's capable of more than her producers are allowing her, these tunes are disstressingly predictable.

Meeting with the Architects

So as you all know, i went to see the Tsai studios yesterday. Let me fill you in on the details: So i booked out of school early because i had a two o clock appointment in the Cape, wich is quite far from my school. Most of the trip was pretty boring , until we drove past the old shipping container yard. While we drove past all i did was stare at the containers thinking:" one of these are going to become a classroom." We finally got to buitenkloof studios home to Tsai studios, but we were an hour late. I nervously went into the elevator unsure what or who was waiting for me. I wandered around searching for office 502 waited around and bumped into a man wearing casual clothes. " who are you?" he asked. Before i could answer he held out his hand and said: " you must be Marshaan, it's a plesure to meet you." "Thank you" I replied, but what i didnt know was that i was talking to Tsai, creator of Tsai studios. He had a meeting and introduced me to the staff, and told me i could help myself to their library on architecture. He arrived with A groccery bag and sat across the table and, again, he congratulated me. He then explained why I won, why they liked the multifunctional classroom with a junglegym supporting the container classroom. We went through the potential and possibilities as well as the things that might not be possible. He then showed me some previos container charity projects and how the prosses works. we then shook hands and parted ways. In the elevator i had an epiphany,i had known that i was the winner of this competition, but the idea only then begin to sink in and i could feel a serge of energy. Friday was the most memorable day of my life.

My First senior Ball

Wow your first senior ball is always something to remember, when it's for a good reason or.... not so good. Mine went down without a hitch and decided to wear something more... creative. I wore a white skinny, sneakers a purple shirt an a white tie for the semi- formal look. I was accompanied by the beautiful Chante van Aarde, who came in a purple number. as you can see in the foto below the theme was purple. This was not done on purpose, we all just arrived and said: Hay, we're all wearing Purple.

No Strings Attached

No strings attached is a comedy, where Emma ( natalie Portman) meets Adam (Ashton Kutcher), an old friend of hers. One morning they deside to have sex and this almost ruins their friendship. They deside to become friends with benefits, meaning they can have sex wherever and whenever they want, but can still see other people; their relationship has no strings attached. the only thing they can't do is fall in love with each , but they soon find out it's easier said than done. Not only does it star the beautiful Natalie Portman and the hilarious Ashton Kutcher but Ludacris makes a surprising appearance on the film.

A Trip to the architects

We all know and love woolworths or as Marks & spencers. Well they hosted a design competition about two months ago. I was kind of forced to enter since design is one of the subjects i take. My class and i including many other participants had to redesign a old shipping container into a multifunctional classroom. The shipping container was not very big so we had to focus on functionality not aesthetics. I posted my entry, and three weeks later they announce that i'm the winner. I won a laptop and will be working with the designers from Tsai studios to make the classroom - shipping container a reality! I will be meeting them soon; this friday to be exact. Will post some of the designs soon.
